In this seminar, the theoretical background, experiment design and pilot study data of my on-going PhD project will be presented. The project aims to investigate properties of Chinese reflexives at the interfaces, tapping both the L2 acquisition among English learners of Mandarin Chinese and the L1 attrition among Chinese-English bilinguals. A series of picture-matching tasks and a self-paced reading is adopted in order to investigate the source of the hypothesized divergence across the bilingual groups.
