How Languages Changed My Life

15 January 2020 — 30 June 2020

Discover our book!

The MEITS project is delighted to announce the release of its book How Languages Changed My Life, a collection of stories exploring the importance of languages in shaping the lives of individuals and communities around the world. Written in a first-person narrative, the stories provide intimate and often funny and moving accounts of individual life experiences and their deep connections to languages. The collection embraces more than forty different languages and offers a kaleidoscope of individual views that collectively make the case for linguistic diversity being as essential to our survival as biodiversity. A must read for all those interested in languages, culture, adventure and global citizenship!

Paperback copies of the volume are available for customers in the UK to buy online from the University of Cambridge's online store, for £10 to include postage. Customers elsewhere in the world can purchase the book either via the publisher Archway or Amazon.

The book will also be on sale at the MEITS Celebration of Multilingualism event at The Barbican Centre, London, on 14th March 2020, where you will have the unique opportunity to meet some of the authors and individuals whose real-life stories feature in the volume.
