This study inquires the acquisition of semantics-, discourse- and pragmatics-syntax interfaces in the Chinese ba construction by native speakers of English in the framework of the revised Interfaces Hypothesis. In this presentation, I shall briefly introduce the theoretical background of the ba construction and the research questions, then focus on the experimental design on testing the interface features of the ba construction: definite, telic, part-whole relationship, etc. in English speakers’ L2 Chinese grammars.
