Celebrating Languages in Cambridge

Wednesday 22 March saw the first collaborative community event between the MEITS team and the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum, bringing together the wide range of local communities to celebrate multilingualism in the City. As well as engaging conversations and a performance of Sudanese music over some delicious local food, the day comprised activities - including an interactive language map of Cambridge, a graffiti wall and multilingual Banagrams amongst others - centred around sharing ideas of what it means to be multilingual for those living in Cambridge today.

The event was a great success, offering much food for thought for future collaborations, while also providing a dynamic space for different linguistic communities to share and reflect on their collective and individual experiences.
