Guidebook for Martians in Nottingham

On 14 November 2017 sixteen multilingual Year 8 students from four schools in Nottingham visited the University of Nottingham to take part in a workshop entitled What I want to say is… The session was organized by colleagues from Strand 2 of the MEITS project, Nottingham City Council's IDEAL team, and the Nottingham Writers' Studio.

During the workshop the students reflected on the potential difficulties of multilingual communication and put their communication skills into practice with an activity that involved helping an alien who had arrived on earth unable to speak any human language. With the help of University of Nottingham postgraduate student Olivia Wright, the work the pupils produced during this workshop was then made into the zine pictured.
