Profile:

In her MA thesis at the University of Warsaw, Aleksandra studied the notion of translatability of the figure of a ‘national poet’ in Davant del rei de Suècia by Quim Monzó as well as translated the nouvelle from Catalan into Polish. Her research interests lie in the formal manifestations of national identities in contemporary literature. As a PhD student on Strand 1 of the MEITS project, Aleksandra will explore the narratives of impurity and their relationship to the use of multilingualism in the writing of Maria-Mercè Marçal and Julia Fiedorczuk. The main goal of her PhD is to reflect upon the way in which the idea of purity shapes concepts such as ‘national literature’, ‘national language’ in correlation with the national and gender identity.
