Profile:

Janice works on contemporary French, particularly on non-standard or distinctive features of spoken varieties. Her research is predominantly corpus based; she brings to the project expertise in methodology around speaker sampling and data collection, and experience of the challenges of digitising and analysing non-standard spoken data. She is on the Editorial Board of French Studies and the Legenda Research Monographs in French series, and has considerable leadership experience as Head of the School of Modern Languages in Queen’s Belfast (2011-16). Janice took up the post of Priority Area Leadership Fellow in Modern Languages at the AHRC in January 2017.
